physical

This view of the 'mechanics' of how we grow to do what we do, and be who we are, does not just apply to our physical functions that are a result of having gradually learned how.

intellectual

These mechanics also apply to our intellectual functions. Not only did we learn how to physically talk, we also learned how to speak a language, build sentences; eventually we learned how to make sense. We learn continuously, and we take the results for granted.

emotional

And again, the same mechanics apply to our everyday human emotions and feelings. Our emotional foundations are learned from our very early (preverbal) days, and gradually build up throughout our lifetime - gradually growing layer after layer over each other, just as with our physical and intellectual development.
